1980 is the last year Harley sold the complete bike. This very clean, complete XR came with notes from the purchase with Otis. It runs and shifts very good, but doesn't stop so good. The throttle grip is weathered. It was once owned by the Chandler museum. Here is what some notes read. Tex Peal tuned it in 1980. Jay Springsteen won the 1/2 mile at Marysville Ohio, and was so far ahead that he did a 100 mph wheelie the length of the straight away as he took the checkered flag. It was the first time the bike ever raced. Hank Scott won the DeQuoin Mile the first time the bike was set up to run the mile.

No one ever did that before. Scott won the pole that night. Hank Scott also had the fast time on the Indy mile, a 102.032 mph average. Carl Patkrick did the engine. All these names are listed as associated with this bike: Steve Morehead, Hank Scott, Garth- Fast qualifier, Darin Erickson 1990-91 From Ohio.
