clt0730's 1970 kicker

This is a 1970 Harley Davidson XLCH Sportster. pdf version
Numbers match, its slightly modified for dependability and function.

This bike is kick-start only. Only 400 miles since complete rebuild and still being broke in properly. Complete rebuild of engine from the bottom up with all new bushings, crank work, pistons, rings, rods, heads, cylinders, Andrews high lift/long duration cam.

Electronic ignition added for easier starting (and that worked!), new coil, new rectifier, drag pipes on it for power (has 2" baffles for back pressure and better mid-range power and torque), 40 mm HD Keihin Screamin' Eagle carb helps it to breathe better, transmission and clutch were done at the same time.

Aftermarket lower seat w/ sissy bar. Added fog lights in the front and rear 2way (brake and riding) bullet lights in the rear for additional visability ( can be removed easily if wanted). I added them because I was planning a cross country trip and wanted to be seen. No turn signals from the factory. New Bridgestone Spitfire S-11 tires (90/90-19" front, 130/90-16" rear) w/ less than 500 miles. Good brake linings. Has some scratches and some patina from 41 years of use, but in real nice shape overall. Not many of these bikes left that were not chopped or heavily modified in some way. This was made just as AMF bought HD in 1969 and it shows that HD still had a large influence on it's quality control at that time. The 1970 model had some parts that were only used on that year's XLCH model only.
