Building in the garage

The Sportster garage is more than a place to drink beer with your buddies. It is where you store your Iron Sportsters and all the stuff needed to keep them running. This section has categories about the spare parts you might need, as well as the tools or facilities needed needed to work on the bike. Once you have the bike or bikes, things soon expand to take over your whole house. You will be cleaning parts in the dishwasher and baking paint in the oven. The garage is a flexible concept with Iron Sportster owners. You might have a project bike parked in the living room where you can gaze at it now and then during TV commercials.

Once you have your Ironhead Sportster, and all the tools you need to keep it in tip-top shape, you need a building to put all the stuff in, the actual garage itself.

In this section I hope to detail everything from how to hang your Sporty from a come-along with a load cell in order to get its weight, to how to put a hoist in the attic so you can haul the bikes up to a handy work table.

Its nice to have a showy garage with black-and-white floor tiles and treadplate everywhere. But it is even more important to have a garage that works.
Building

I've spent a lot of time in the garage. Here are some projects in the Building category.
