The sprocket cover is a small category, but since it is so visible on a bike, it gets its own. There are not a lot of sub-assemblies that mount to the sprocket cover. Early iron Sportsters had the clutch release mechanism in the sprocket cover. For 1971 and later, the clutch release went in the primary cover, so it will appear in both categories depending on the year. The Sprocket cover sub-assembly belongs to the Engine assembly.
