There are a million ways to customize your Iron Sportster. One major reason for the popularity of the Iron Sportster is because you can mix and match parts from different years. You can put a disk brake front end on an old drum brake bike. Gas and oil tanks from different years may fit your bike. Best yet there is a vibrant aftermarket that makes thousands of diffenrt componets. And don't forget, you can adapt big-bik Jap bike and auto parts to your bike. Some bikers shy away from customizing electrical items on their bike. One told me he didn't trust electricity since you can't see it but it can kill you. I guess he saw electricity as sneaky.

Electrical stuff can be complicated as well, but there is a cornucopia pf parts available. You can get an entire wire harness or a mirror that has gauges built in behind the glass. Ask around, check things out, and never be shy about making you bike cooler than the next guy's.
